Services & Ideal Clients
We get started with the most fundamental details first. What services will you offer and who are your ideal clients? You’ll learn about niching and whether it’s right for you and your business. You’ll also learn to establish who your ideal clients are and how to identify potential ‘red flags’.
Pricing & Availability
This week is all about putting money in the bank. We focus on figuring out how much money you need to earn in order to meet your goals, and what that means for the hours you need to work. We’ll also help you help you figure out how to find enough time to work on your business and for your new clients, even if you’re still in a full-time role.
Legal & Compliance
We talk contracts, insurance, GDPR. None of this is exciting, but it’s all super important for protecting you and your clients and an essential for ongoing success as a self-employed virtual assistant.
Branding
You won’t grow if you’re not visible! This week we start focusing on establishing a meaningful presence. As well as helping you decide on a company name and establish your branding, we’ll work on your domain name and emails and focus on setting up your own website and social media accounts.
Visibility
Branding and a website are only part of the story when it comes to visibility. You also need to understand how to market your business. By the end of this module, you’ll know all about the best marketing tools for your VA business and how to use them. There will be a special focus on Google My Business, networking, and social media connections. We’ll also go into the dos and don’ts of freelance platforms and how to use them for the best results.
Wellbeing
When you’re self-employed, it’s critical to look after your health and wellbeing. After all, if you’re unwell, you can’t work! Because self-employment is a new way of working, we go deep into the importance of practicing genuine self-care here. This includes ways to work from home effectively and how to set boundaries with your clients (and friends and family) when you establish your business.
Finding your first client
With everything in place, you’ll be in the perfect position to find your first clients. This module dives into the techniques you can use to find clients who fit your ideal client persona. This includes content marketing, SEO and advertising. You’ll also learn how to engage with your audience, how to use cold emails to find new clients and the much-underrated power of following up with your prospects.
Onboarding your first client
Landing your first client is part celebration, part panic! In this final module, you learn everything you need to onboard your client smoothly and professionally, so they won’t even realise they’re your first client! You’ll learn how to host an effective discovery call and how to establish a streamlined and repeatable onboarding process for every new client. You’ll receive a host of templates to help you with this, including a welcome email template and kick-off call templates to make sure you capture all the information you need, every single time.
In addition to these 8 modules, you’ll have access to the Timpi Vault. This is a bank of how-to videos on the essentials so you can dip in as and when you need to. It also includes unbiased overviews of the main platforms, so you can make an informed decision about the best platforms for you and your business.

I know exactly what your going through
It frustrates the hell out of me when being a VA is touted as an ‘easy’ way to make money. Some ‘experts’ would have you believe that all you need is a phone and a laptop to make a living and find financial freedom.
But that’s rubbish.
Being a high-quality virtual assistant is tough. But it’s also incredibly rewarding if you get it right. And to get it right you need more than a laptop!
I’ve made my own journey to becoming a VA, have supported VAs within my agency, and have mentored virtual assistants at the start of their new careers. And I’ve seen the same things crop up time, and time again. So believe me when I say that there’s very little that surprises or shocks me.
The reality is that you’ll encounter a LOT of bumps in the road when you become self-employed.
When I first started out there was very little help and I made a LOT of mistakes - it was definitely not plain sailing. It was a lot of fun, but I know I’d have grown more quickly if I’d had the right support. It could also be lonely. I didn’t know many other VAs and it wasn’t as if I could reach out to ask my clients for their input on my plans!
Setting up the Timpi Transformation course is my way of helping others - sharing the mistakes I made when setting up my own business, and bringing these learnings to life.
